Microneedling isn’t as painful as you may think. A prescription strength numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 5-10 minutes before the procedure begins. The numbing agent significantly decreases patient discomfort. There may be a few bony areas of the face such as the temples, forehead, and chin that are slightly tender. Patients normally report a sensation of “pressure” during microneedling. The entire procedure takes between 15-20 minutes.

It is also important to note, microneedling will stimulate your body’s production of natural collagen. Dermal science has proven that collagen synthesis is vital to healthy, glowing skin. Microneedling causes dermal “micro-injuries” that stimulate a team of inflammatory blood cells to migrate to the treatment area and aid in tissue repair which cause new collagen to be produced.

The PRP Facial is like a normal facial with microneedling. The treatment areas are numbed using a lidocaine based topical. Active PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is then applied to the face, neck, or chest and microneedled into the skin. After the procedure, an additional application of PRP will be placed onto the skin to promote tissue healing. Treatments usually take 40-60 minutes.
